So much for Truth Social
When Donald Trump and his allies launched a social network called Truth Social but didn’t really do any of the things that would be necessary to give it a chance to grow and succeed, the whole thing smelled bad. Was this merely yet another Trump business that was all about moving money around in shady fashion?
Now Trump’s latest Federal Election Commission numbers are out, and it lists Truth Social as having a value of no more than $25 million. As the New York Times points out, just a year and a half ago, the people behind the social network thought it was going to be worth $9 billion.
If you don’t have a calculator handy, that comes out to Truth Social now being worth about 0.27% of what it was supposed to be worth. Multiple major news outlets have also previously reported that Truth Social’s parent company is under federal investigation. So much for Truth Social.
