Five down, three to go…
By all accounts Special Counsel Jack Smith has already had every witness in the Trump classified documents scandal testify against Donald Trump to the grand jury. But then there’s Jack Smith’s separate January 6th probe into Donald Trump.
Awhile back, the U.S. Court of Appeals ordered eight witnesses to testify in that January 6th probe, in spite of Trump’s claim of executive privilege. On Thursday, Nick Luna – the fifth person out of those eight – testified to th grand jury.
This means there are (at most) three people who still have to testify. We say “at most” because grand jury testimony is always secret, and this stuff only gets reported when the media happens to spot the person going into or out of the court house. For all we know, the remaining three may have testified already. Either way, it’s clear that Jack Smith is very close to the end.
