Donald Trump just stepped in it
Even as what’s left of Donald Trump’s legal team is trying to make the (weak) argument that the DOJ’s criminal prosecution of Trump is politically motivated and should therefore be tossed out, Trump is busy undermining that notion.
During his speech to supporters tonight, Trump promised that when he’s somehow magically President again, he’ll personally order retaliatory criminal investigations into Joe Biden and his family. Oops. Trump just undermined his own attorneys’ argument.
Trump should shut up while he still can, before he does any more damage to his trial defense prospects. But then again Trump is also broke and needs the short term cash, so he’s out there ruining his trial prospects in the name of trying to goad his supporters into giving him a few more dollars. Trump is toast on so many levels.
