Desperate Donald Trump begs for help – and no one is listening
If you were just arrested for thirty-four felonies in a criminal case that has a boatload of inside witnesses testifying against you, and you were on the verge of getting criminally indicted on even more serious charges in two other jurisdictions, you’d probably be begging for help. So it’s perhaps no surprise that Donald Trump is doing precisely that.
Trump is now yelling this on his social network: “REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS SHOULD DEFUND THE DOJ AND FBI UNTIL THEY COME TO THEIR SENSES.”
Okay there a couple problems here. First, the Republican House can’t actually do this. There’s no magically “defunding” the DOJ or FBI. Jim Jordan can run his mouth about doing it all he wants, but it’s not a real thing that he can actually do.
Second, even if House Republicans could magically defund the DOJ and FBI, which they can’t, it still wouldn’t stop Manhattan and Fulton County from prosecuting him because those are state level cases with no connection to the DOJ or FBI. Trump keeps begging for help, but there’s nobody to listen.
